Once again you've hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the reminder/guidance as well as the trip down memory lane. When I was a kid my father used to bring me to the barber shop with him where he would often get a haircut, but more importantly get all the news that was fit to tell.

Yep - agree for sure that you can do a 1-to-1 wherever you are and conferences are a good place to meet like minded people - but you can't pretend to be an IT specialist or a Junos technician.

And yes yes - WOM isn't new - what is new is that it's pretty much the ONLY channel left at the moment for effective influencing?

You know you have "arrived" as a legitimate discipline when there is an Association devoted to it. You are absolutely correct in stating that WOMMA is a great resource for word-of-mouth marketing. In addition to their conferences, they also offer a number of free resources through their newsletter. "The WOMMA Word"

Another great resource for WOM is the WOMMA group. I've attended one of their national conferences and they provide a wealth of information.

This is one of the many tools available to small businesses as a great way to actually "be there" with your best customers. I thought it great to share with my 'brain's that I trust".

Lloyd and I had a fantastic trial session and now I am eager to see whta others will do with this technology. To find out more about upcoming projects and tools, visit us at the website: www.amppd.ning.com

As always in closing, "be good to yourslef"!

You are making a great point here, particulalry about understanding what your advocates are actually saying about your brand or service, vs. what you may be intending your message to be. If you pay attention to what the ambassadors are saying, this may lead you to change your marketing materials to be more in line with the benefits your ambassadors truly experience.
